Purchasing Furniture
We understand that purchasing furniture can sometimes be a daunting experience, especially when buying online or purchasing completely custom pieces. Don’t worry! We’re here to walk you through the entire process from start to finish. But before we start, we’ll attempt to answer the most frequently asked questions regarding our build, design and finish process to ensure that you receive an item you will LOVE!
Our furniture is handcrafted by our teams of artisans in Gainesville, Ga. We’re very proud to offer 100% made in America solid wood furniture, sliding barn doors, and barn door hardware.
We primarily use classic, old-school joinery methods. Screws or bolts are sometimes used for reinforcement. Wood is purchased from local mills and we use only furniture grade lumber except for bed slats and certain framing pieces that aren’t often seen. Most of our furniture and doors are made from pine and most of our prices reflect that; however, we can make any piece that you see in our shop from just about any wood type that we can locate, from alder to zebrawood.
Yes, we do! The core of our business is a unique custom furniture and barn doors, and though we prefer to create new designs, we can also create what is known as a reproduction piece. In fact, many of the name-brand designs and styles you see are reproduction pieces themselves. Either way, our goal is to create a piece for you as unique and individual as you are!
In order to keep our prices low, we do not have a showroom; however, you’re welcome to visit us at our workshop to preview a finished piece or a piece in production. Please use our Contact Form or call Stephen to schedule an appointment.
If your piece is standard in our shop, we will direct you to our Finishes page. This explains not only our process but how to make your selection.
First, you want to make sure that you have correctly measured the opening where your door will be hung. You can view our barn door measuring guidelines here: Barn Door Measuring Guide page. You will then choose the width range and height range under which your door(s) falls and make that selection. You can add your measurements to the note section at checkout or submit your measurements at a later date using our Barn Door Measurement Form.
Absolutely! If you are certain that you will be installing barn doors in your new or remodeled home, ordering now means that we will most likely have your doors ready when you need them. We recommend using our Barn Door Measurement Form at any time during the process.
